The young boy made a promise to his heart to reunite his lost grandmother. Out of nervousness, he entrusts Manuganu. Thus, the story lines of both games begin with Manuganu overcoming all obstacles through determination.

The game Manuganu features four environmental zones for players to explore. Each zone has multiple environments with unique challenges. The game has a large number of levels thanks to its gameplay mechanics being inspired by other games. Before the boy Manuganu, the Canyon area presents dangers in the form of canyons and gorges. The boy had to contend with thorny cactus as well as heights in gorges that varied continuously. Cliff has high cliffs that Manuganus must safely cross. He can fly through the winds to avoid the deadly cliff formation. Next is the Jungle, a forest with trees and deep water. Near Daadi's imprisonment, the Volcano area is the last to be explored. Pass through the child over flaming lava streams.

When the player moves to the next area, they face off against a new boss. Each play area has a distinct end that leads into a confrontation with another boss. Additionally, the player encounters four separate bosses in the canyon area. In its final form, the red dragon appears on the last section of the level. The next boss in the cliff area was a black dragon with jagged teeth. This dragon continuously spewed orange heat that killed Manuganu, the boy who lived in the area. In the jungle area, a riverbed electric fish is the boss to watch out for. The last area contains the volcano; here, the boy confronts the fire dragon Goyakoka. Watch out for his lava balls, as they can pose a significant threat. With a prehistoric setting, players must help the boy Manuganu overcome every obstacle.
