The game Dead Effect 2 is a sequel to the first Dead Effect. Both games are set in 2045, when the ESS Meridian spaceship was en route to the planet Tau Ceti with an assignment to establish a new human colony. The quiet, somber, and foreboding space aboard the spaceship causes chills and apprehension. Before the unknown tragedy occurs, the only sounds are the mechanical hum of the machinery and air leaking from the ceiling. A crew member's duty is to maintain order while guarding the craft. Crew members in hibernation prepare to endure the long trip. Several faithful remain awake to face the unkown once they leave the Earth's atmosphere. This is because all laws, ethics and rules no longer apply after leaving the atmosphere. These members somehow inexplicably went on a rampage and conducted forbidden research. They conduct super scientific experiments, clone people and build cyborgs among other things. Any subsequent investigation reveals a serious mistake was made. The trial results have morphed into bloodthirsty zombified monsters and a war-torn spaceship. You awaken on a starship as one of the crews in hibernation. Your choice to fight with everything you have for one last breath gives you the opportunity to survive among these terrifying enemies. Dead Effect 2 differs from the original in that Earth has dispatched a special unit of soldiers to locate and eliminate the ESS Meridian. They hope to completely wipe out all remnants of its terrible scientific experiments so they can save the survivors. Additionally, this mission involves tracking down the ship as well as some zombies, aliens and other unusual creatures. Additionally, several people have taken up arms against their attackers in hopes of survival. Special forces cops are on the way. That means you have to watch out for their every move while you fight the approaching monsters.

Dead Effect 2 uses many of the same gameplay mechanics and controls as the first installment. Players navigate the game using the emulated navigation button on the right side of the screen. In the main menu, users can switch between instruments that help defend against attacks such as guns, explosives and scopes. Additionally, they can change weapons on the right side of the screen by moving a finger on the touchscreen. Dead Effect 2’s auto-fire feature is unique in that it behaves differently than the first part. By default, auto-fire fires at the right place without the need to aim. This reduces the amount of effort and time needed during combat. After a prolonged period of hunting, the crew's surrounding monsters become bloodthirsty, brutal and more aggressive. Additionally, the crew's otherworldly threat increases the game’s pace. If the game doesn’t feature automatic weapons, it's hard to survive.

There are multiple game modes available to play in the game. The plot is followed in Story Mode, which helps players learn the secrets of the horrific massacre on a ship. Other modes include Generic Missions and Game Modes that contain various monster hunting quests. There are several different game modes for you to play through: Survival, Infestation, Lone Wolf and Biohazard. These modes have unique storylines and gameplay; you just enjoy one after the next.

At the beginning of the game, you can choose one of four characters to be transformed into. Gunnar Davis is a heavy weapons specialist who possesses many weapons capable of eradicating large groups of enemies. People who wish to engage in hand-to-hand combat should choose this character. A female warrior capable of using shotguns as her specialty is Jane Gray. Kay Rayner is an assassin proficient in melee combat with a professional record. Xandria is an expert on weapons that use Laser and Plasma. You will have the opportunity to meet additional characters in the story. One of these is Wagner, an academic who inspires the creation of dangerous experiments and whose mistake led to a catastrophe. Danette is an excellent teacher who specializes in Minikin, a person with extensive knowledge of weapon systems and weapon upgrades. Biekik is also an instructor for the character; his role is to assist in defensive measures and equipment.

Characters choose 3 weapons from one of three categories. These are chosen before the battle starts. Enables players to fight with baseball bats, knives, Katana swords, axes, chainsaws and hammers in melee combat. From farther away, there are over 39 constructed crossbows, gun alternatives including grenades launchers, handguns, submachine guns, snipers rifles, laser guns and plasma guns. Playing the adventure requires super-fast reflexes and a head as cold as ice. It also requires players to use heavy weapons and powerful superpowers. Anyone who can successfully complete the operation has a chance to win— but only if they’re careful. Dead Effect 2's battles must be obscure if classes have that much power. In this RPG, each class gradually learns new skills, develops new equipment and increases their stats. Additionally, they can upgrade their equipment and functionality. Dead Effect 2 has more than 100 implantable devices and defensive armor with multiple upgrades. It also has weapons that have more than 40 strains that can be upgraded over time. The game includes long-term companionship and stimulating shooting with a complex character line.
